Justin Lin’s newest addition to the Fast and Furious series has proved to excite the general audience far more than the earlier movies. Fast and furious 4, with Vin Diesel back in action, and a fast paced and intriguing plot, has out done the previous movies of the Fast and Furious series.

Justin Lin has managed to grip the audience with breathtaking cars, races and action sequences woven into a rather interesting plot.
Brian O’Conner(Paul walker), gangster turned FBI agent, teams up with Dominic Toretto (Vin Deisel) to bring down a heroin importer by infiltrating his operation.
The movie starts with Dominic Toretto, who is now an international criminal, leaving his girlfriend (Letty) to protect her from what lies ahead of him. But she is killed in, what the police say, is a run of the mill car accident. However, when Dominic visits the crime scene he discovers traces that lead him to believe that it was not just an accident but a cold blooded murder. Meanwhile, Brian is trying to round up a certain heroin importer by infiltrating into his organisation. When old friends Brian and Dominic realise that they after the same guy for reasons of their own, they decide to join hands once again and bring the bad guys down.
Braga, who is actually the boss, disillusions Dominic, Brian and the FBI by making another person seem as the boss through the first half of the movie. Brian and Dominic realise this while negotiate with the man who is posing to be Braga.
The real Braga is nailed at the end of the movie. Even though Brian tries to appeal for Dominic’s bail, Dominic is sentenced to life in prison.
To sum it up, I would say that it’s a complete entertainer and a must watch for all sports cars freaks.

Marley and Me is an American comedy drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson. It is an awesome movie and I was spell-bound as some of the events were quite similar to what happens in our house. We also have a dog and after four years of him being our only baby, our daughter was born!

So anyone who wishes to enjoy the movie and is looking for a review first, the story goes like this. After their wedding, John and Jenny Grogan come to live in Florida where they are hired as correspondents by rival newspapers. While Jenny gets good work, John is somewhat bored of insignificant assignments.

John soon begins to sense that Jenny is craving for motherhood. He suggests that they get a dog first to know whether they are ready to take the responsibility of a family. They choose Marley, from the litter of yellow labs. He proves to be very naughty and hopeless though. They also take him to a trainer but she eventually expels him from the class.

Meanwhile the editor of John’s newspaper offers him a twice weekly column on travails of everyday living. John is at first in a dilemma but later thinks that the escapades of Marley would prove to be great material for the column. The editor agress.

Marley continues to wreck havoc in the household but this seems to be the perfect material for John column. People start liking his column so much that the circulation of the newspaper starts picking up. On the other hand, Jenny becomes pregnant but loses her child. The couple goes off to their belated honeymoon in Ireland and leave the dog with a young woman, but Marley is beyond any control!

After coming back from vacation, Jenny discovers that she is pregnant again and this time gives birth to a healthy boy Patrick. When she has a second son, Connor, she opts to give up her job and become a stay-at-home mom, and the couple decides to move to a larger house in the safer neighborhood of Boca Raton, where Marley delights in swimming in the backyard pool.

After two sons, John and Jenny also welcome a daughter, Colleen, to their family. Although she denies she is experiencing postpartum depression, Jenny exhibits all the symptoms. She starts growing impatient with Marley and John, who asks a friend to care for the dog when Jenny insists they give him away. She quickly comes to realize he has become an indispensable part of the family and agrees he can stay.

John celebrates his 40th birthday. Increasingly disenchanted with his job, he decides to accept a position as a reporter with The Philadelphia Inquirer. The family moves to a farm in rural Pennsylvania. Life is idyllic until the aging Marley begins to show signs of slowing down. When it becomes clear surgery will not help his debilitating condition, the dog is euthanised and buried.
The story revolves around the high profile New York life of four friends Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte (Kristin Davis), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Samantha (Kim Cattrall).

Carrie is an author and is in relationship with Big (Chris Noth) for the last ten years but they are not yet married. Charlotte is happily married but is childless so she and her husband visit China and adopt a girl Lily from there and are very happy thereafter. Miranda is also married with a son and is a lawyer. She finds it difficult to look at the emotional side of life. Samantha is a TV star and is dating a man but all that she can think of is sex and money. She is selfish and puts herself before others and so it is difficult for her to commit.

The film begins with Carrie and Big viewing apartments with the intention of moving in together. However, Carrie experiences doubts over the sensibility of this arrangement, explaining that they are not married, and as such she would have no legal rights to their home in the event of a separation. Big suggests that they get married.

Miranda hasn’t had sex with Steve (David Eigenberg) in six months. She is devastated when Steve reveals he has slept with another woman, and immediately separates from him. Samantha is living with Smith (Jason Lewis), who has a successful television career. She grapples with her persistent desire for sex with other men; her handsome and sexually active next-door-neighbor, Dante (Gilles Marini), in particular.

Carrie’s wedding plans escalate into such a lavish event that Big begins to experience doubts. Carrie does a photo shoot for Vogue. While returning a book to the library, Carrie sees a wedding being held there and chooses it for her own venue.

After an argument with Steve at the rehearsal dinner, Miranda, still upset about Steve’s indiscretion, tells Big bluntly that he and Carrie are crazy to be getting married, as marriage ruins everything. On the day of the ceremony, he decides he cannot go through with it, leaving Carrie devastated and fleeing from the library, where their wedding was supposed to take place. Big, however, changes his mind and intercepts Carrie as he sees her limousine drive past. Carrie, humiliated and betrayed, proceeds to attack Big with her bouquet, while he earns furious looks from Miranda and Charlotte. The four women subsequently take the honeymoon that Carrie had booked to Mexico, where they de-stress themselves.

On her return to New York, Carrie hires an assistant, Louise (Jennifer Hudson), to help her move back into her old apartment and manage her administration. Charlotte learns she is pregnant after a visit to her doctor. Miranda eventually confesses to Carrie about what happened during the night of the rehearsal dinner, and the two have a brief falling out. After reflecting on the argument she had with Carrie, Miranda agrees to attend couples counseling with Steve, and they are eventually able to reconcile. Samantha begins overeating to keep from cheating on Smith with Dante, but eventually realizes that their relationship is simply not working, and that she needs to put herself first. The two break up, and she moves back to New York. Charlotte for several months is concerned that something might happen to the baby, as her life seems to be too perfect.

A surprise encounter with Big at a restaurant leaves Charlotte so furious that she goes into labor. Big delivers her to the hospital, and waits until baby Rose is born, hoping to see Carrie. Harry passes on the message that Big would like her to call him, and that he has written to her frequently, but never received a reply. She finds that he has sent her dozens of letters copied from the Love Letters of Great Men book she showed him in the weeks before their wedding.

One hour before the locks are due to be changed on their shared penthouse apartment, Carrie travels to the home Big had bought for them to collect a pair of shoes she had left there. She finds Big in the walk-in closet he had built for her, and the moment she sees him, her anger at his betrayal dissipates. They later marry alone, in a simple wedding in New York City Hall, with Carrie dressed in the original dress she had bought in a vintage shop. They hold a get-together at a local diner with their friends. The film ends with the four women around a table in a restaurant, sipping cosmopolitans, and celebrating Samantha’s fiftieth birthday, with Carrie making a toast to the next fifty.

It is based on real life story of Daniel Pearl and his wife Mariane Pearl. Her husband Daniel, South Asian bureau chief for the Wall Street Journal, was researching a story on shoe bomber Richard Reid. The story drew them to Karachi where a go-between had promised access to the elusive source. As Danny left for the meeting, he told Mariane he might be late for dinner. He never returns. In the face of death, danny’s spirit of defiance and his unflinching belief in the power of journalism led Mariane to write about his disappearance , the intense effort to find him and his eventual murder in her memoir “A Mighty Heart: The Brave life and Death of my Husband Danny Pearl.” Six months pregnant when the ordeal began, she was carrying a son which Danny wanted to name Adam. She wrote the book to introduce Adam to the father he would never meet. The performances of Angelina Jolie, Irfan khan and the rest of the cast is commendable. The story line is so strong that there was no scope of any flaw. A must watch!

Visually dazzling and emotionally resonant, Slumdog Millionaire is a film that’s both entertaining and powerful.

First Golden Globe now 10 nominations for Oscar. This film is really going to write history.

The movie is about hope, destiny, love and has magnificently captured the mystique of Mumbai. It’s amazing how Danny Boyle was able to capture the pulse, the chaos, the contradictions, the beauty, the mess, the color and the promise called India.

The movie covers the life long relationship between three childhood friends struggling to get out of the Mumbai slums. The film has very well packaged everything one would like to see in a good movie; love, adventure, emotion, drama, comedy, and timeless beauty of India all over. The scenes of violence are well done and has powerful value.

The hero despite being brought up amongst poverty, violence, child abuse and rape, is able to remain pure. He doesn’t go for the millionaire show for money, he goes there hoping that her childhood love will see him. He wants to answer as many questions as possible because that means more time on the show, thus increasing the chances being seen by his love.

Slumdog Millionaire attempts to deliver a simple message: triumph of the human spirit, integrity and karma.

In short: excellent job done by all.

Reign over Me is a okay sort of film written and directed by MIke Binder. One can say that it is worth a watch but that is it. It stars Adam Sandlar and Don Cheadle in the lead. It is the story of two high school roommates who get separated and meet after a long time just by coincidence. Don is a reputed dentist and has a family to look after, while Adam is alone as he has lost his wife and all three daughters in a car crash. This has made him utterly depressed and he tries to evade reality by living in his own different world. Don has everything but misses the company of a male friend. He later realizes that he thinks that his wife has too much control over him and both friends let it loose one night. Adam one day realizes that he requires treatment for what he is going through. He is observed by a psychiatrist played by Liv Taylor. She tells Don that till Adam pours his heart out to someone, he wouldn;t recover. But he doesn’t want to recover and is sent to a rehabilitation centre. Meanwhile, Don’s father passes away and this event brings the family close together again.

I had heard a lot about this movie and wanted to watch it someday. So when i got to see it on television i happily glued myself to the idiot box. The thing which i had heard in advance about this movie was that it was narrated by bollywood living legend Amitabh Bacchhan. That is why i was looking forward to it lus the fact that it was a love story! Amitabh’s voice in the movie sounds so very authentic and rhythmic that you will almost fall in love with it. Coming back to the story of the movie, it is about the Emperor penguin, his mate and the little child which they bring up together facing all the hardships. It is about how the female of the species transfers her egg to her male who then takes care of it for months. The female in the meantime has to travel miles in search of the food and come back to her family with the stock of food. The father in the meantime takes care of the child which has hatched from the egg by then. They have little or no food left with them and feed the child with some emergency supply from the mouth waiting desperately for the mother. Both father and child have to face the wind stroms and it is only the fittest of the kids who survive. The father also in extreme circumstances eats up the newborn if all his resources are depleted and there is no sign of the mother. The mother walks and walks and tries to reach the family as soon as possible. The distance from the ocean maybe sometimes 120 miles! Once the mothers reach the emperor penguins who have there children all cuddled up under them they recognize their own by the sound they send out. The high decibel shrieks are unique to every penguin and is the only way by which the mate can be recognized. Once they get their mate, the child is transferred to the mother in the same manner as the egg was transferred to the father. Now the mother will bring up the child. The father leaves promptly as he is hungry and has a long journey ahead of him to the ocean. The mother takes care of the child and feeds them properly now. When they grow up sufficiently they are left on their own to lead their independent lives. But after a period of four years, they will repeat the same cycle for their offspring as their parents did for them.

The movie touched my heart because of the message it conveyed. The sacrifice that the penguins do for their young ones is commendable. In most of the animal species, it is the female who has the sole responsibility for bringing up the child but penguins are an excellent example of team work and dedication in a family environment.

Good visuals and sound effects make the movie a must watch for anyone interested in wildlife. It is a better experience than a national geographic or discovery program, i bet!
